FAQs

We understand you probably have a lot of questions. Here are some of the most asked ones. If none of these answer your question, please feel free to contact us.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

We have land transportation arranged from the a specific meet up point in the NYC area. From there everyone will be driven up to Grace on the Lake.

WHO IS COOKING FOOD?

At Ethos, food is at the heart of everything we do and for Ethos Remote Habitat you will get to enjoy fresh nourishing meals made with sustainable and locally sourced ingredients. Each location will have a chef on the premise. From family-style dinners to typical daily breakfast, lunch and dinner - all the meals will be prepared by our amazing chefs.

WHAT ARE THE FOOD OPTIONS?

All our meals will be prepared from sustainable and ethically sourced local food. In every location we will have vegan and non-vegan offerings. For other dietary requirements please let us know and we will make the effort to accommodate these.

HOW DO YOU SELECT AND CURATE PEOPLE?

Same as for our Ethos Members, we vet people who are aligned by three main pillars: mission in life, personal values and mind-set, and relevance to other members. We are looking for people that are willing and motivated to contribute and participate in the community and individuals that will inspire one another.

CAN I NOMINATE PEOPLE?

Nominations are limited. Only our Founding Members, people that are part of the Ethos family, and people who are joining Ethos Remote Habitat can nominate.

HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE NO ONE IS INFECTED?

There is limited availability of tests so we can't 100% guarantee that none of the guests are carrying the virus.  We are working on trying to secure tests for all of our guests and in the meantime, we are making sure that everyone who is coming to Ethos has spent at least 2 weeks in self-isolation prior to the journey and that they are not showing any symptoms.

We will have a COVID-19 antibody test so all guests will be screened before being admitted. That way everyone is able to freely enjoy open mics, fireside chats, daily yoga, and parties without worry of infection.

ARE WE PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING?

We will fully comply with local government guidance on social distancing. We will also stay quarantined for the first two weeks with no outside interaction. For us, the most important is that the group has no interactions with the local population and therefore we have organized transport to the property and a mandatory quarantine that starts upon the arrival.

WHAT IF SOMEONE GETS SICK?

Every location we have selected is in proximity of a local hospital and we will have a vehicle available 24/7 in case of an emergency. For international travel, each guest will need to have mandatory travel insurance. You can have your own international travel insurance plan or get the Ethos recommended insurance policy. Access to telemedicine is included in the price.

IS THERE A HOSPITAL NEARBY?

Yes. All locations we have chosen have first-rate medical care nearby.

WILL I HAVE A PRIVATE WORKSPACE?

You will be able to work from your private accommodation as well as the common areas. Common areas feature a convenient remote work setup with a lot of space for concentration, work, and enough power outlets for every seat in every space.

WHAT ABOUT THE WIFI?

All of our locations are chosen with this in mind. There will be wifi so you can continue your daily work and/or play routine, but in a much nicer location.

Speedtest from Grace on the Lake.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Lodging in a single occupancy room or tent, 3 meals a day prepared by a local chef, ground transportation to and from the meet up location to Maine, programming and events.

WHO WILL BE THERE FROM ETHOS?

The retreat will be organized and attended by at least one member of the staff of Ethos besides our programming officer and one of the amazing chefs.

HAVE YOU DONE THIS BEFORE?

We did - one of our co-founders is currently living in the mountains of North Carolina in the same setup as Ethos Remote Habitat. This is what initially inspired us to extend the offering to all of our members and friends!

WHAT ABOUT THE PROGRAMMING?

Our events are based around three different topics:

A. Informative / Educational: Panels, intimate conversations and movies.

B. Social: Family-style dinners and meals, music, games, and adventures.

C. Wellness (mind - body - spirit): yoga, meditations, energy healing, sound meditation and more!

Although we are trying our best, we don’t have all the answers. No one does. What we do have is: Community, paradise, nourishing food, work space, and inspirational programming.

For the creative and inspired vanguards, pioneers, creators, thinkers, and leaders of tomorrow.
